Only Two winners for “C” team in opening day loss at Heswall RBL “B”

The Afternoon “C” team started their season away to Heswall RBL “B” on Wednesday but could only manage Two winning cards in a 46 shot loss. Lawrie Blackburn, with a stunning 21-05 victory and Bill Powell involved in a marathon 21-20 win, were the Vics only winners on the day. Bernard Davies , 20-21, and John Dodd,17-21, were the best of the rest in a slightly disappointing start for Brian Buck’s side. Brian still feels that the aggregate score can be secured in next weeks return fixture however and is looking for a much improved performance from his team.
