Trevor increases Vics Birkenhead League squad.
01/12/2005 by admin.
The Vics new Birkenhead League Captain, Trevor Rodgers, has increased his squad of players by introducing three new signings for next season. The signings will be announced once they have officially resigned from their present clubs but all three are currently registered as 1st Division players with their clubs. Trevor has been chasing these players since our AGM and has to be congratulated on his efforts in managing to strengthen what was a limited squad for the Vics.

Peter Dodd to be new Secretary/Treasurer for Wallasey Association. New cup rules introduced at Wallasey AGM. League restructure proposals thrown out.
01/12/2005 by admin.
The Wallasey Crown Green Bowling Association held their Annual General Meeting at Manor Road last night and the Vics own Peter Dodd was re-elected as Secretary and will also combine this job with the position of Treasurer after the resignation of Brian Hampson.
Four new Cup competition rules were proposed and accepted at the meeting but the proposed new League Structure was defeated and rejected after representations from the possible 6 clubs who were to form the new “Premier League.”
The new cup rules to come into effect in 2006 are as follows:
Page 58 of Handbook
Add Rule 7
7. Non Starred Players will not be eligible for “B” or “C” teams after the 30th June unless they have played more league/cup games for the lower team(s) than the higher team(s) in their club by this date.
Add Rule 8
8. Teams will be handicapped in Cup Matches on the strength of players registered with club.
Add Rule 9
9. No Player to play for more than one of his club’s teams in the same round of any Cup Competition.
Add Rule 10
10. Once the Starred list of players has been submitted to the League Secretary, any changes to the list must be put before the Executive Committee for approval.
Skipper Mally Johnson received the 1st Division Trophy from League President Keith Etches at last nights meeting and praise was given to Billy Atkinson for reaching the National Final of the British Parks individual merit competition.
