Dave leads Vics to top of table in hunt for 4th consecutive Title.

Dave Gilmore continued to lead from the front last night with a stunning 21-03 victory in the Vics 93 shot away win at Burtons. One of the features of the Vics performances has always been the tremendous starts from the front 4 blocks and yet again last night this proved to be the case. The Vics leading by 38 shots after another clean sweep of the front four. Ian Sherbrooke, taking it easy tonight after his marathon on Tuesday, won 21-07 and with Matty Gilmore 21-16 and Crusher 21-20 involved in tighter games the Vics were well on the way. The middle 4 all produced victories as well, with Robby Fitzpatrick and Neil Sherbrooke both 21-10 and Anthony Thompson 21-11 all comfortable winners it was left to Peter Dodd, as usual, to provide the excitement with a hard fought 21-20 win. Bernie Owen and Robby Franklin started the back 4 off with easy 21-10 victories and when Billy Atkinson carded a 21-15 win a complete clean sweep was on the cards again for the Vics. Skipper Mally Johnson, forever the gentleman however, refused to win going down 15-21 in the last game of the night. The final victory margin of 93 shots gives no indication of slip ups in the title run in and the Vics move 3 points clear at the top of the table after Manor Road lost at home to Queens Royal.
