Another 10 winners for Vics in 63 shot victory over Burtons in Presidents Cup quarter final.

On another rainy night tonight, the Vics Wallasey League side progressed to the semi finals of the Presidents Cup with an easy 63 shot victory over Burtons despite having to concede a handicap of 30 shots. With two quickfire wins in the first four by Tony Vyskocil 21-04 and Robby Fitzpatrick 21-06, Burtons were completely on the back foot when Mally Johnson 21-09 and Dave Gilmore 21-18 came off leaving the Vics 17 shots up even with the handicap. The middle four increased this lead to 35 with Anthony Thompson 21-11, Peter Dodd 21-14 and Matty Gilmore 21-17 all victorious. The two Sherbrookes , Neil 21-05 and Ian 21-06 didn’t hang about in the rain too long and when Billy Atkinson closed the evening with a hard fought 21-19 the Vics had triumphed yet again by the large margin of 63 shots. With ten winners ( 5 in single figures ) the Vics show no signs of letting up in their quest for a complete clean sweep of Wallasey trophies this season. Next up Manor Road on Thursday at home in the possible title decider.
