Slaughter in the sun as Vics win by 125 shots. All 12 winners on night of no mercy.

On a sunny but cool evening last night, the Vics Wallasey league side continued their impressive run of victories with a 125 shot annihilation of Sacred Heart at West Kirby. The front four made a flying start by building up a 49 shot lead. Dave Gilmore, showing son Matty how to do it, won 21-04. Matty Gilmore, maybe still learning from Dad!! winning 21-05. Peter Dodd , if only he could do it on the big occasion, winning 21-11 and Karl Sherbrooke, not quite “crusher” form but good enough for a 21-15 victory. The strengh of the Vics was shown in the quality of the middle four with Anthony Thompson, some say hiding again, a 21-07 winner. Robby Fitzpatrick, wearing some kind of hideous football shirt, winning 21-12. Tony Vyskocil , suffering lack of concentration due to inane wittering by spectators, ran out a 21-13 winner and Robby Hall, once again improving our vocabulary with some choice expletives, victorious 21-14. Skipper Mally Johnson led the back four into battle with a storming 21-07, followed by Ian Sherbrooke, quietly showing his undoubted class, with a 21-11 victory, Billy Atkinson, once again wondering why every wood doesn’t do as it is told won 21-12 and Neil Sherbrooke, giving us all a fright, by going 02-11 down before fighting back to win 21-16. This victory underlines the Vics determination to win every match to the end of the season and retain the Division One title. Next up in the league is the return match with Manor Road, the one team to defeat us this season, revenge is a must if the title is to be won.
