Jim Cress Memorial Trophy

Peter Dodd reached the semi finals of the secretaries handicap yesterday before going out 17-21 to Steve Stonehouse of Royden Hall. On a fine but windy afternoon at Cammell Laird, Peter beat Eric Jones of Thingwall 21-10 in the last 16 before beating Colin Goulding from Lever Club 21-12 in the 1/4 finals. In the semi final Peter pulled back from 3-9 to lead 14-12 but a run of eight on the trot by Steve Stonehouse virtually sealed the game. Still, it was all good practice for Wednesday’s Sansom Cup game at the same venue.
