Controversy at “C” team game.

There was a controversial finish to this afternoon’s “C” team game at home to Greasby “B”. After continuous rain from mid morning the match started on time on a green fully fit for play but after 5 blocks and with the Vics leading by 73 shots, Greasby decided that it was too wet to continue. After discussions between the two captains, agreement could not be reached and with the Greasby players refusing to play, Lennie Sherbrooke had no option but to call off the remainder of the match and refer to the league secretary for advice. More to follow!!!!!!!!!

Seven winners away from home, Vics still lose by 4 shots

Despite having seven winners on the night, the Vics lost to Albany by 4 shots away tonight. Robby Franklin 21-10, Karl Sherbrooke and George Morgan both 21-12 set the Vics up nicely and with Ian Sherbrooke, Trevor Rodgers, Billy Atkinson and Peter Dodd all winning the Vics somehow managed to throw away a 28 shot lead after eight blocks to eventually lose by 4. The aggregate point was won but these are the sort of games where we need to win the away leg if we are to finish in a high league position. Next up Higher Tranmere at home next Friday 4th June.
