Vics retain trophy but Charity Day is the real winner.

The Vics retained the George Gilmore Trophy this afternoon at a gloriously sunny Manor Road. The real winners though were The Wirral Disabled Marine Association who were this years nominated Charity. Our own Eddie Dodd has connections with this worthy cause and it was good to see Eddie actually playing in the match. A good crowd enjoyed some very close games and the Vics ran out winners by the narrow margin of 2 shots. Dave Gilmore 21-09 being the best of the Vics winners and with three 21-20s and a 21-19 winner, there were plenty of close games for the crowd to enjoy. The Vics had 8 winners and 5 losers. Thanks go to all the players taking part, as they all paid to play today to help out the Charity.
